Words starting with the letter "I"

A bone to pick definition by El Español

I've got a bone to pick with you (exp.) –

A phrase used to express displeasure or disagreement, much like a hungry dog eyeing a juicy bone that's been unfairly taken away.

Examples:

  1. After discovering El Español had accidentally fed their prize-winning flamenco dress to a goat in Greece, Lucía exclaimed, "I've got a bone to pick with you, mi amor! That dress was a family heirloom!"

  2. Upon finding a half-eaten chorizo under El Español's sombrero in Mexico City, Lucía declared, "I've got a bone to pick with you! We talked about snacking less between meals, remember?"

  3. While sorting through their luggage after a trip to India, Lucía pulled out a pair of mismatched shoes and announced, "I've got a bone to pick with you! Did you really think these sandals went with my flamenco outfit?"
